It’s no stretch to say that when you eat our Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream, you’re striking a blow for social and economic justice. That’s because our brownies come from a bakery in Yonkers, New York, whose mission is to provide employment and support services to formerly homeless, low-income and disenfranchised people and their families.Greyston Bakery - Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream

Back in 1988, our first order to Greyston was a couple of tons, which for us, was a small order. For Greyston, it was a huge order. It caused their system to break down. They couldn’t freeze the brownies fast enough and by the time they arrived at our factory, the brownies had turned into fifty-pound blocks of brownie that were basically unusable. Eventually we hit on a whole new flavour that used the broken chunks of brownie that were left when we broke up the blocks – aptly named ’Chocolate Fudge Brownie’. Today it’s one of our top-selling flavours worldwide and we’re using Greyston brownies in ‘Half Baked’ and our Frozen yogurts. Downright decadence!
